USDA Rural Development
The U.S. Department of Agriculture offers a variety of programs to help qualifying individuals living in qualifying areas achieve homeownership. The Rural Housing Service (RHS) helps qualifying applicants purchase modestly priced homes as their primary residence.
RHS Loans are an attractive option because:
- Roll all closing costs into loan if appraisal allows
- Zero down payment
- Relaxed credit guidelines
- Generally easier to qualify for a RHS loan than a conventional loan
- No monthly mortgage insurance (MI)
- Finance appraiser-required repairs
RHS loans can be used toward the purchase of a previously owned home or a new construction.
